Pulse College’s Film Production Diploma is designed for today's new generation of film makers, who share a passion for the creative arts and a love of the film medium. The Pulse College Film Production course is created to provide student with all the competencies and skills necessary to enter the highly competitive film industry. With an equal balance of theory and hands-on real world experience, these intensive full and part-time courses are a must for any aspiring filmmaker. With the constant changes in technology, filmmaking requires a combination of many skill sets, at the Pulse College film course in Dublin you will learn lighting , audio, scriptwriting, camera, photography, editing, colour grading and much more from our industry experts at the film school.

  • Shoot your show real in HD with the new Sony PMW EX 1 cameras.
  • Light your creation with the professional Ianiro and Kino Flo lighting rigs.
  • Add stunning backdrops to your presentations using Green Screen techniques.
  • Edit your work on the industry standard Apple's™ Final Cut Pro Studio.
  • Stylise your images with imaginative Graphics on Apple's™ Motion and colour grade your creation on Apples Color grading application.

Show Reel

As well as acquiring the internationally recognised City and Guilds qualifications, throughout the academic year, students are given the challenge of producing a high quality show reel designed to showcase samples of their technical and creative skills for future employers. The end of film production course show reel will consist of below:
  • Film Short (which will be submitted to various film festivals)
  • Music Video (by collaborating with our 2nd year sound students)
  • Television Advert (pitch your ideas to a company and produce an advert they can use)

LECTURES

  • Noel Quinn

    Noel Quinn has been involved in the film business for almost forty years. His sound credits include Michael Collins, Veronica Guerin, Laws of Attraction and The Honeymooners. In 1989 he was nominated for an Emmy Award for his work on The Hijacking of the Achille Lauro. Noel has lectured extensively on film sound in Ireland and now lecturers at Pulse College in Dublin.

  • Farah Abushwesha

    Farah Abushwesha is a writer producer and founding member of the BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing Forums which showcases new script writing talent at BAFTA, (past guests include Mike Newell, John Madden, and Richard Eyre). Her production work includes several high-profile, award winning short films, Late Bloomers with William Hurt and Isabella Rossellini, Micro Men, The Scouting Book for Boys (Winner @ London Film Festival), La Chinoise (Winner at Locarno), among many others.

  • George Geraghty

    George Geraghty has been working freelance with lighting and camera for a number of years. He has experience in set, studio and location lighting. As well as directing his own award winning short film 'Burn out' he has been Director of Photography on a number of short films including 'MOB' and 'Through the Trees'. George has also had previous experience as a lighting technician and focus puller. George also works freelance directing and lighting adverts for client's websites. George has qualifications in Film Production Techniques (FETAC) and Video Production (City and Guilds). He has worked on a variety of projects with Pan International, Antistrophe Films, Venom and Video agency France.

  • Keith Bailey

    Keith Bailey, Final Cut Trainer. With a PhD thesis in the Aerodynamics of International America’s Cup Class yachts, he changed career direction deciding to follow his love of film, becoming Final Cut Studio Master. Keith now trains in all products in the Final Cut Studio Suite and also is an Adobe Certified Instructor in Premiere Pro.
