Pulse Launches Exciting New Game Development Course
Game design is emerging as an exciting growth sector providing new employment opportunities in Ireland. To cater for this demand Pulse is set to launch its innovative part time and full time Game Development Diploma.
What distinguishes this course from others is that it is designed to follow the production pipeline from initial concept to delivery. While others focus on one particular area either programming or the art side of gaming, Pulse aims to expose students to all areas of Game Development from basic programming to designing stunning soundscapes and effects.
Ken Tysom is the course leader putting together a high profile team of industry experts to train students in the latest gaming techniques and technology. He is a renowned expert in sound for visual media with over ten year’s experience educating and lecturing in this specialist area. After completing college in 1998 Ken gained a teaching position with Pulse College. From there he developed a passion for sound design and the use of audio within video games.
"The production of modern video games is a huge undertaking and today's game designers need to be multidisciplinary in their approach, displaying a creative flair combined with a strong technical aptitude” Explains Ken, games course designer.
This unique course gives an introduction to the main areas in the process of producing games, with the aim of preparing the individual for entry into the industry and/or further specialisation.
